UAE Space Agency participates at Dubai Airshow

ABU DHABI 4th November 2015 (WAM) -- The UAE Space Agency will make its maiden appearance at the Dubai Airshow this coming Sunday at Dubai World Central at Al Maktoum International Airport.

The agency is attending the airshow for the first time since its establishment in 2014. It will showcase an interactive stand in the exhibition which will shed light on its international presence as the body responsible for regulating and developing the space sector in the UAE. It will further inform individuals about the Agency's programmes current initiatives and future plans.

Dr. Khalifa Al Rumaithi Chairman of the UAE Space Agency said: "Our participation in this international event will undoubtedly help promote the achievements of the UAE Space Agency. This will enhance the exchange of experiences with professionals in the aviation industry worldwide and would improve the Agency's role in the development of the space sector in the UAE and the region. As a result this will build technical capacity through access to best global practices."

Dr. Mohamed Nasser Al Ahbabi Director General of the UAE Space Agency said: "Being among this international gathering is consistent with the Agency's plan to build partnerships and strengthen relations with major international companies. We aim to supplement the space sector in the country with the latest developments which will be reflected on existing and future projects in accordance with the Agency's target plans."

The Agency will benefit from its participation in the exhibition through meeting with various stakeholders including bodies institutions and companies specialised in the space and aviation sectors. The meeting will discuss means of boosting mutual cooperation as well as exchange knowledge about the latest findings in global space technology and ways to support innovation in all fields.
