PSD: 150,000 narcotic pills seized


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Anti Narcotics Department (AND) personnel on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle 150,000 narcotic pills hidden in plumbing pipes, that were destined to be smuggled outside the country, the Public Security Department (PSD) said.

Anti-drug police followed up information on a group of people was planning to smuggle a large quantity of drugs outside the Kingdom by a truck, and investigations led to the main suspect, the PSD added.

The PSD noted that the investigation team was divided into two groups, one of them observed the truck movements, stopped it and seized the drugs, while the other raided the home of a suspect and arrested him.

Investigators stressed that two other suspects are involved in the issue, while work is underway to arrest them.
