Israeli forces arrest 1,553 Palestinians in October

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Israeli occupation forces have arrested some 1,553 Palestinians from the West Bank, Jerusalem and from inside the Green Line, since the beginning of October.

Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said on Wednesday that the Israeli police and army have referred around 1,632 Palestinians to investigation since September 10, while 1,553 have been detained.

Israeli police said that during the last three weeks there has been a significant decrease in the amount of stabbing attacks in Jerusalem, attributing that to the Israeli wide arrest campaign, as well as a series of actions carried out, including deployment of a large number of policemen and soldiers in Jerusalem.
