Kuwaiti MPs call for implementing APA resolutions


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's MPs Dr. Awda Al-Rowaey and Dr. Khalil Abdullah called for evaluation and implementation of resolutions adopted by the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in order to keep up with latest developments, events, and issues of joint interest.
The two Kuwaiti MPs made their remarks in press statements Tuesday after taking part in the meetings of APA's Executive Bureau and the Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs, kicked off in the Iranian capital Monday.
Al-Rowaey stressed the importance of benefiting from APA's meetings through exchanging opinions and proposals regarding various issues of joint interest, calling on all participating parliamentary delegations to work on amending some resolutions and proposals.
He also called for evaluating of APA's action, as well as reviewing accuracy of its projects and proposals, noting that such meetings are also an opportunity to discuss boosting cooperation and coordination between Asian parliaments towards joint issues.
Meanwhile, Abdullah stressed the importance of evaluating APA's performance in order to check on the effectiveness of its resolutions, pointing out APA's important role when its resolutions are implemented.
The Kuwaiti delegation strives to establish an Asian bureau tied to APA and has an effective role, similar to bureaus in Europe and other international blocs, he indicated.
