Israeli forces close Palestinian radio station in Hebron


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Israeli occupation forces early Tuesday stormed the offices of a Palestinian radio station in Hebron, where they confiscated broadcasting equipment and devices, in the latest violation of press freedoms in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Hebron municipality said in a statement that Israeli forces backed by a large number of military vehicles stormed the Da'erat al Seer area, imposed a tight security cordon and broke into the headquarters of the Manbar al-Hurriyya (Freedom Tribune) radio station .

Israeli soldiers issued a military order notifying employees that the station to be closed for 6 months and its broadcast is banned, the statement added.

It also said the occupation forces had destroyed equipment inside the offices and confiscated other equipment.
