KSA's utility firm closes USD667m deal to build Green Duba

(MENAFN) Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), the Gulf's biggest utility, made a deal with two firms to construct and operate the Green Duba power plant for USD667 million.

The promising plant will cultivate 43 MW of solar energy, and the two companies are Spanish Inteq Energia and the Saudi Services for Electro Mechanic Works (SSEM).

Green Duba will be Saudi Arabia's first fossil-fuel fired power plant to utilize solar energy creation to boost efficiency known as an integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) plant.

Moreover, the completed plant will save the equivalent of 3 to 4 million barrels of fuel over the life of the project and cut carbon emissions by 50 thousand tons per year.
