Israeli troops kill Palestinian in Hebron

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Israeli occupation forces Sunday shot and killed a Palestinian east of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian News Agency Wafa reported.

It said troops had prevented medics from approaching the man, who was not immediately identified, and left him to bleed to death on the spot.

According to Israeli military sources, troops killed the 29-year-old man, who "lunged" at them with a knife. They said no soldiers were injured in the incident, which took place in the village of Beit Anun near Hebron.

The man is the latest victim of what Palestinians call "field executions" by the Israeli army in the West Bank, where stone-throwing protests continued for a second month. More than 70 Palestinians were killed and ten Israeli soldiers and settlers also died in violence last month.
