Attorney General Meets Russian Justice Minister


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE Attorney General Dr Ali Bin Fetais Al Marri conferred with Russian Justice Minister Alexander Konovalov, on the sidelines of the 8th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), which was concluded today and chaired by Qatar.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on a number of topics of mutual interest and discussed the United Nations activities in the field of recovering looted funds.

Meanwhile, His Excellency the Attorney General presided over the closing session the 8th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the IAACA. The meeting reviewed the meeting's key outcomes, namely the St. Petersburg declaration, he said, pointing out that China will host the next meeting of the IAACA in Beijing.

In his speech during the closing session, HE Al Marri said the success or failure of anti-corruption strategies depends on efforts taken in the prevention and education, stressing on the need for the IAACA to continue to exchange experiences in the field of prevention and education through strengthening the integration of education in the prevention of corruption strategies. The IAACA has more than 300 organizational members which cover nearly all law enforcement for national institutions and bodies entrusted with the task of fighting against corruption and more than 2000 individual members, including prosecutors, investigators and experts with experience in anti-corruption research or practice.
