Suicide attackers strike popular Mogadishu hotel 15 reported killed


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Mogadishu Muharram 19 1437 November 01 2015 SPA -- Suicide attackers struck a popular hotel in the
Somali capital Mogadishu early Sunday with 15 people killed
according to an official.

The fatalities included politicians and senior officials a senior
government source told dpa.

The group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility.

Witnesses reported explosions followed by gunfire. A dpa journalist
saw five people lying on the ground.

A car bomb exploded at the entrance to the
Sahafi Hotel and that attackers then exchanged gunfire with the
hotel's guards.

A suicide bomber detonated a second set of explosives inside the
hotel the report quoted police as saying.

Several prominent people were among the injured including a
journalist and local businessman.
