UAE participates in 19th Meeting of GCC Environment Ministers

DUBAI 29th October 2015 (WAM) -- Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad Minister of Environment and Water headed the United Arab Emirates delegation to the 19th Meeting of Ministers of Environmental Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council of Arab States GCC which was held yesterday in Qatar.

The meeting discussed a host of issues including co-operation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) the regional office for West Asia as well as co-operation with Turkey Jordan and Morocco in the environment sector.

During the meeting the members commended UAE's hosting for the 27th meeting of the parties to the Montreal Protocol (MOP 27) to be held from1st to 5th November 2015 in Dubai.

The UAE delegation included Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi Deputy Minister of Environment and Water and Joseph Risi Director of Waste Management at the Ministry and Ahmed al-Hashemi Director of Biodiversity Management.
