DOHA: Indian Women’s Association (IWA) will be hosting the 19th Inter School Quiz competition on October 23 at Birla Public School. The IWA quiz is open to all the students of both national and expatriate schools in Qatar. The quiz tests knowledge in literature science geography sports music and current international affairs. This year students of three standards can take part in this competition. Students of standard VII VIII and IX are qualified to take part in this quiz.
About the Quiz Master
Siddhartha Basu grew up in Bombay Delhi Madras and Delhi An English literature graduate from Delhi's St. Stephen's College and post graduate in the same subject from Arts Faculty Delhi University. Siddhartha Basu is the head of a media business BIG Synergy Media Ltd and Tree of Knowledge. Starting with Quiz Time on Doordarshan network Siddhartha moved on to host and produce Spectrum the 7 nation SAARC Quiz The India Quiz and The Beanstalk Quiz Summit(On Doordarshan) Mastermind India University Challenge on BBC World and India's Child Genius" on STAR World.
Siddhartha Basu's career in television began in 1977 as a documentary filmmaker His success in the quiz circuit may have been launched by Quiz Time in the 80's. He was the Quiz master of Quiz Time series in the 80's the inter-collegiate quiz show produced by ITV India sponsored by Limca and Amul Chocolates. Siddhartha made his movie debut as an actor with the film Madras Café (2013) playing RD chief of R&AW. He appeared as the president of India in the Malayalam hit How Old Are You (2014) and its Tamil remake 36 Vayadhinile (2015). Siddhartha was also seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet (2015).

IWA conceived in 1986 is a leading social cultural organization in Qatar affiliated to Indian Cultural Centre under the aegis of the Indian Embassy. The Indian Ambassador’s wife is the Patron of the organisation and this is the only Indian women’s organization in Qatar exclusively for Indian Women.
