Kuwait grants Lebanon USD 30 mln to aid Syrian refugees

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has granted USD 30 million to Lebanon to aid Syrian refugees in that country.
The current grant is KFAED's second batch for the refugees, Tareq Al-Munayes, KFAED's economic advisor, told KUNA Wednesday following his meeting with Lebanese Social Affairs Minister Rasheed Derbas.
It is part of Kuwait's pledge in the 3rd donors' conference to support the humanitarian situation in Syria by providing a total of USD 500 million, of which, USD 100 million is allocated by KFAED's resources to five neighboring countries of Syria, Al-Munayes noted.
Lebanon's share, USD 30 million, is the biggest since it hosts the largest number of Syrian refugees, he noted, adding that the aid is meant to alleviate suffering of the refugees and help Lebanese communities hosting those refugees.
