(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Lower House Speaker Atif Tarawneh on Wednesday emphasized the need for Palestinian unity to counter the Israeli intransigence and repeated attacks against Palestinian people and Islamic and Christian holy sites that aim at obliterating the legitimate Palestinian rights.
He made his comments during a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Nayef Hawatmeh.
"Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, has placed the Palestinian issue on top of its priority, is keen to support it with all possible means and spare no effort to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians", Tarawneh added.
The Palestinian official highlighted the role played by the Lower House towards various national issues, especially the support to the Palestinians cause.
He also indicated obstacles facing the Palestinian issue, particularly the repeated Israeli violations, and stressed the importance of constant consultations on issues of mutual concern to serve common interests.
