S. Korean LG Uplus's net profit soars 38 percent in Q3

(MENAFN) LG Uplus Inc., South Korea's 3rd largest mobile carrier had its gross profit surge 38.4 percent through the three months to September, according to the latest reports.

Net earnings hit USD100.2 million in the mentioned timeframe as opposed to USD72.2 million in the previous year, which was mainly driven by the solid growth in its mobile business.

Meanwhile, Operating profit touched USD151 million, down 1.4 percent from 2014 on a rise in market costs, plus its sales also dropped 1.6 percent on-year to USD2.3 billion over the cited period.

However, the country's smallest mobile carrier status was massively boosted with launching a mobile app that offers some 130,000 videos from real-time TV shows and movies to e-learning.
