6th Muslim World Biz kicks off in Kuala Lumpur


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The 6th Muslim World Biz 2015, the leading trade exhibition and conference in the Muslim World, kicked off in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday under the theme "reaching a golden age of industry".
The international Islamic exhibition has previously achieved positive results in developing commerce in member-states of the Organizations of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), said Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department of Islamic Affairs Jamil Baharom.
Over 320 commercial companies and organizations from 49 countries are participating in the event in the sectors of tourism, travelling, infrastructure, real estate, banking, finance, food, education cosmetics, Islamic fashion and investment, he added.
On his part, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia Saad Al-Asousi noted that Kuwait is participating in the event for the second time, with ten companies from both the private and the public sector.
The event provides Kuwaiti businessmen with an opportunity for marketing their country's products, while also sharing experience with their Malaysian counterparts, said the ambassador.
Al-Asousi also mentioned the honoring of Kuwaiti businessman Fawzi Mohammad Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi, who was awarded the "Jewels of Muslim World Award" at the opening of the conference, in recognition of his efforts in the field.
Meanwhile, CEO of Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi and Sons Company (MAK Group) Hussam Fawzi Al-Kharafi, who received the award on behalf of his father, said he was eager to create partnerships with Malaysian businessmen, noting that most of MAK's commercial relations in Asia are focused in India at the moment.
The Muslim World Biz, held from October 27 to 30, has generated over USD 300 million in investments over the years. With quality trade buyers and exhibitors from both Muslim and Non-Muslim countries, it is the ideal opportunity to expand to over 40 countries worldwide and target the affluent Muslim trade and industry sector.
The exhibition provides an ideal platform for exhibitors from all over the world to connect with over 500 private and government sector from more than 30 Muslim countries and tap into the Muslim market.
