Obama to visit Turkey southeast Asia


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) U.S. President Barack Obama will travel to Turkey to participate in a summit of G-20 leaders on Nov 15.

Obama "will spurinternational efforts to ensure strong sustainable and balanced global economic growth" while in Turkey according to a White House statement.

It is unclear if he will hold bilateral meetings with Turkish leaders.

The U.S. president will then head to the Philippines and Malaysia where he will participate in regional summit meetings in both countries.

The visit to southeast Asia will contibute tothe U.S.’s strategy to rebalance the Asia-Pacific region in political economic security and people-to-people engagement dimension.

It will also "underscore America’s support for Asia’s regional institutions which enhance security and prosperity"said the White House.
