Sudan: joining campaign in Yemen dictated by national commitments

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) In a response to Iranian criticism, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry stated Monday that Sudanese forces joining of the Saudi-led Arab alliance to restore legitimacy in Yemen is dictated by national commitments and regional alliances.
In a press conference, the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ali Al-Sadeq said that Sudan's sovereign decision has nothing to do with the nature of its relations with any country. He added that the relations with Iran were normal.
On Saturday, Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian criticized the Sudanese last week's decision to deploy ground forces in Yemen to back Arab alliance operations against the Houthi rebels.
