GCC chief receives report on human rights violations in Yemen


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al-Zayani on Monday received a report on alleged human rights violations in Yemen.
The report was handed by head of the committee to probe the claims Dr. Hadi Al-Yami. It is believed to have covered and documented any allegations of such violations in Aden, Yemen since January 2011.
The committee, consisting of senior judges, lawyers and human rights experts, is entitled to collect information and evidence, and make the necessary legal measures regarding the claims.
It was formed upon a decree by Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi on September 7, and is authorized to complete its mandate in one year renewable for another year in case there is a similar decree.
