Lebanese army arrest 11 suspected human traffickers


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Lebanese army announced late Monday that its forces have arrested 11 suspected human traffickers.
In a press statement, the army accused the arrested people of involving in last Friday's foiled attempt to transport 36 illegal migrants from Lebanon to Turkey.
On Friday, the army stated that a navy patrol apprehended a Lebanese boat smuggling 36 individuals to Turkey two miles off Tyre coast.
Illegal migrants included 14 Palestinians coming from Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria, 21 Palestinians from Lebanon, and a Lebanese citizen were on the board, the army said, noting that the boat was made to fit for 10 people only.
