Eight people killed in fireworks' explosion in Jordan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Eight people were reported killed Monday night when two containers filled with fireworks exploded in a customs storage area in Jordan's capital, Amman.
Jordan's Civil Defense said 12 more sustained injuries.
It added, in a statement, that it applied precautionary measures to isolate the fire and prevent from reaching nearby fireworks' containers.
Among the killed were three Egyptians, according to the Egyptian foreign ministry.
The ministry is following up on the casualties as Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri received a phone call from Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh, where the latter extended condolences on the deaths, the statement noted.
