66 houses completed by Qatari funds in northwestern Tunisia

Tunis: Tunisia has received keys of 66 houses completed by Qatari funds including 34 new houses and 32 restored houses located in Halima in the city of Jendouba northwestern Tunisia.

This came during a ceremony attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Tunisia Abdullah bin Nasser Al Hamidi and governor of Jendouba Al Habib Alexandrani.

In his speech during the ceremony the Ambassador said that this effort has been launched since last March as a response of the State of Qatar to the call of duty towards brothers in Tunisia particularly in the northwestern Tunisia.

For his part Jendouba's governor emphasized the good coordination between the two sides to ensure a good investment for this assistances that targeted the most affected social situations by cold waves and snow.

The project was implemented through Qatar Charity by adopting rigorous scientific standards to ensure buildings with the highest level of prevention and protection from cold waves and seasonal rains.

This move comes as a translation of a cooperation agreement signed in March between the State of Qatar and the Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity aims to provide the necessary assistance for the Tunisian families affected by the cold wave sweeping the north-west of Tunisian areas each year.

Under the agreement the State of Qatar provided expenses of food blankets and medicines to the affected families.
