UAE- ADCM launches cleanup drive in Al Wathba

Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADCM) as part of its Assematy programme has launched a campaign primarily aimed at maintaining standards of public utilities in Al Wathba.

The initiative comprises cleaning up of mosques combating graffiti phenomenon and meeting Bani Yas ladies in the Al Wathba community.

Mohammed Ali Al Mansouri Director of Al Wathba Municipal Centre said: "Taking care and cleaning of mosques and maintaining their civilised appearance are among the municipality's top priorities. To meet this the municipality launched this campaign to encourage all community members to maintain public service facilities and premium services on offer.

The mosques cleaning campaign witnessed the participation of female school students from Al Noor School for Basic Education."

A preacher from the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and on the importance of taking care of mosques and maintaining their appearance. The municipality in cooperation with specialists from the Al Khaleej Ready-mix Concrete organised an anti-graffiti campaign marring public buildings and facilities schools government institutions and even the walls of houses in Al Wathba city.

Al Mansouri added that the municipality also met more than 700 ladies from Bani Yas to direct them to educate them about the mechanism of using the toll-free number and inform them about the environment-harmful practices and how to preserve the environment.

The programme also furnished women with the first aid skills home safety precautions and educated them about how to sort and recycle household waste.
