Jordan- PM chairs meeting chairs meeting on Irbid development zone


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour chaired a meeting at the Prime Ministry of Monday, for departments concerned with Irbid's development zone.

The meeting, which came as a follow up of a previous visit last year, discussed challenges and obstacles facing work at the Irbid development zone.

Ensour highlighted the importance of this project, which was launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II in 2007, in attracting investments that would contribute to achieving development in the northern region.

The prime minister stressed the need to take necessary measures to accelerate work and accomplish the project that would support the national economy.

The meeting also tackled a proposed mechanism for partnership and cooperation between the North Development Company and the Jordan University of Science and Technology to achieve the objectives behind establishing the zone.
