US Amazon's profit surges 23 percent in Q3


(MENAFN) Amazon, the American online giant, has beaten all analyst expectations with its third quarter recorded profit, which grew 23 percent y-o-y with total sales scoring USD25.4 million.

The company managed to post USD 79 million in gross income through the cited period, amid its constant effort to expand its on-demand grocery delivery service and enhancing its Fire tablet.

Additionally, its online video has been perceived as successful, winning an Emmy for one of its programs this year and bringing in customers to its Prime subscription service.

Furthermore, Amazon's aggressive push in the quickly rising but highly competitive cloud computing services segment delivered a 78.4 percent gain in net sales, with the business bringing in USD2.1 billion.
