(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here Saturday the US Secretary of State John Kerry.
During the meeting, Abbas was briefed on the steps that Kerry seeks to achieve with the Israeli side, spokesman for the Palestinian presidency Nabil Abu Rdainah said.
Protecting Jerusalem and the holy sites, preserving the historical status quo and stopping settler attacks, should be the first steps that must be carried out by the Israeli side, Abbas said, stressing the need for the Israeli government's commitment to the signed agreements.
