Spanish Deputy PM's plane makes emergency landing in Turkey


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria's plane made an emergency landing at Corlu Airport in the Turkish northwestern city of Tekirdg after detecting a technical problem in the engine.
The Turkish Anadolu news agency said that the local authorities have rushed to the plane and transported the Spanish official to a nearby hotel till the arrival of a technical team from Spain to handle the problem.
The team managed to repair the engine and the plane become ready to take off again, the Anadolu noted.
De Santamaria and her accompanying delegation boarded the plane which departed to complete their trip to Afghanistan for a series of talks with officials there.
