UAE- 10 inventions unveiled at Ajman varsity graduation

Smart dolphin smart saddle and smart climber are some of the 10 new inventions UAE inventor Ahmad Majan unveiled on Thursday as part of the 24th graduation ceremony of the Ajman University of Science & Technology (AUST).

The commencement ceremony saw the presence of His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman; Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Crown Prince of Ajman; Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi Minister of Education; dignitaries senior officials graduates and their parents.

"The process of higher education in the UAE has ranked high worldwide in view of the vision of the UAE prudent leadership that spares no effort to equip its citizen with both science and culture" said Shaikh Humaid who is also chairman of the AUST board of trustees.

Osama Saeed Salman vice-president of the university said the commencement ceremony is themed the 'Class of year of Innovation' as Ajman University strongly believes that the graduates are individuals who shall contribute to society and will be valuable human being in every field they choose.

"This year's batch includes 1462 graduates from 47 countries who obtained bachelor and master degrees in 46 specialties being provided by the colleges of the university.

Majan locally known as UAE's Edison told Khaleej Times that the smart dolphin will help search operations in deep sea while the Bluetooth-operated smart saddle will be an added value for chivalry. The smart climber will be a better option for climbing lampposts and palm trees than normal ropes he said. "I have also invented an environment friendly bag for preserving nuts; a patent registered in UAE."

Adding Majan said he invented a smart bicycle that can be located if robbed and a solar-powered device for tracking falcons. "I have invented a smart mirror for desert motorbikes that automatically reports accidents if any and can be tracked and located."

The three other inventions Majan talked about included a special device for electronically removing falcon head cover using a mobile phone 500m off a solar-powered device for tracking desert motorbikes and a solar-powered device for tracking hunting dogs.

Mohammed Ishaq Al Khaja a lieutenant with Ajman Police has obtained a master's degree in general law with honours told Khaleej Times that he is proud to be the top graduate of the university this year. "I graduated from the police college in Abu Dhabi in 2012 and completed my postgraduate studies since then."

Wael Ibrahim another topper told Khaleej Times that he got a master's degree in special law. "I have always dreamed to complete my studies and got a PhD in law my favourite field."
