Korean Hyundai E&C gross profit grows 20.7 percent in Q3

(MENAFN) South Korean Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., the nation's second biggest builder, posted a 20.7 percent climb in its net profit in the third quarter to hit USD145 million compared to USD135.1 million in 2014.

Additionally, the positive figures were mainly attributed to the large-scale projects that have been started in the Middle East region, plus it reflects the good performance of its subsidiaries including Hyundai Engineering.

Moreover, operating profit jumped 14.6 percent on-year to USD232.4 million, not to mention that sales surged 10.6 percent to USD4.1 billion, exceeding forecasts and the slump in global construction projects after low oil prices.

However, the total of new contracts signed in the Jan-September period has fell 4.3 percent on-year to USD13.3 billion because dropping oil prices led to a delay and cancellation of some projects by oil-rich nations.
