Visa free regime to be introduced in Vladivostok free port in 2016

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Russian Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev said that Russia will allow eight-day visa-free stays in the Vladivostok Free Port starting from next year.
Russia will allow eight-day visa-free stays in the Vladivostok Free Port starting from next year Russian Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev said on Thursday.
"Starting from January 1 2016 foreign nationals will be allowed to stay on the territory of the free port for eight days. As for other conditions they will be introduced gradually. The law also stipulates a free customs zone. This process needs to be smoothed out" Trutnev said.
On July 13 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a legislation establishing the Vladivostok Free Port. The law came into force on October 12.
The free port regime will cover 15 municipalities in Russia’s Far Eastern Primorsky Territory stretching over 28400 square kilometers (10965 square miles).
According to the Russian president it will become a flexible mechanism for investing in the Far Eastern Federal District.
A free port has the right to perform duty-free import and export of goods and is excluded from the state customs territory. Vladivostok previously had this status between 1861 and 1909.
