NTSO season opening concert features soprano Julie Ann Dieltz alongside top student artists from the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas
DALLAS - Oct. 20 2015 - The New Texas Symphony Orchestra the premier community orchestra of Dallas performs "ALL IN! For Opera" with explorations of various operatic works composed by Mozart Bizet Puccini and Verdi featuring soprano Julie Ann Dieltz and various student musicians from the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

Called "an operatic rarity" a "powerhouse" and "a substantive soprano with a gleam on top" Dieltz holds a Bachelor’s of Music from Abilene Christian University and a Master’s of Music from Southern Methodist University. In November 2015 Dieltz won an encouragement award at the Minnesota District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Singing with Dallas' own Voices of Change in February 2014 Dieltz was acclaimed by the Dallas Morning News as “...the substantive soprano with a thrilling gleam on top.” Beyond her performing career Dieltz currently teaches vocal performance and piano pedagogy at the Gray School of Music and she is also an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Cedar Valley College where she also serves as the accompanist for the Cedar Valley Chorus.

The Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts () .is nationally recognized as a prototype for successful arts magnet high schools featuring a curriculum that integrates the arts and academics where students select an arts cluster to major in dance music visual arts or theater. The institution is a National Blue Ribbon Award for Exemplary Education by the U.S. Department of Education.
The New Texas Symphony Orchestra () is an all-volunteer non-profit performing arts group under the baton of Kathryn D. "Cathy" Brown who founded the NTSO in 2004 with a two-fold dream that provides amateur musicians an opportunity to play in a full orchestra setting and share the excitement and quality that comes from music performed by those who play purely for the love of it. The 2015-16 concert season entitled "ALL IN!" features four concerts celebrating the music of opera the ballet American composers and the great symphony classics.
