Jordan- PM receives Tunisian President


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Tuesday evening, met with President of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi, who is visiting the Kingdom.

The prime minister and the Tunisian President expressed keenness to strengthen the Jordanian-Tunisian ties and joint cooperation in all fields, noting the importance of the two countries' joint higher committee, which will convene a meeting in Amman during in December, in promoting bilateral economic ties.

Ensour ansd Essebsi said it was important to increase coordination between the two countries towards various Arab and regional issues of common interest, underlining the importance of finding a political solution to the Syrian and Libyan crises.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments in Jerusalem and the Al Haram Al Sharif. The Tunisian president highlighted the importance of Jordan's role in safeguarding the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Ensour hailed the Tunisian president's great achievements and contributions to Tunisia's march towards democracy and development.

The Tunisian president underlined Jordan's role as a model of security and stability in the region.

Senior officials from both countries attended the meeting.
