GCC senior municipal officials kick off 31st meeting


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The 31st meeting of GCC senior municipal officials kicked off Tuesday and is expected to discuss a host of issues bound to sustain coordination among member states.
Doha Municipality Director Mohammad Al-Sayyed chaired the opening session of the meeting, which is slated to come up with recommendations based on the agenda.
Of items listed in the agenda are reports of specialized technical teams, the GCC Award for Municipal Work, beautification of cities, the unified GCC building code and the preparation of a unified GCC strategy for municipalities, Al-Sayyed noted in an opening statement.
The meeting is a prelude of the 19th meeting of GCC municipal ministers to also be hosted by Qatar next Thursday, October 22.
