400 Palestinians are held in administrative detention in Israel


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Nearly 400 Palestinians are currently being held in administrative detention in Israel, according to Palestinian Prisoners Club statement.

The statement, which was issued on Tuesday, added that the Israeli occupation authorities has issued, since the beginning of October, 60 administrative detention orders against Palestinians.

The rise in the number of administrative detainees came within a decision taken by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the recent events in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.

The number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails currently stands at 6000.
