(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Turkish border guards on Tuesday arrested seven foreigners, while trying to cross into the Syrian territory from Turkey's southern border state of Kilis.

According to a statement issued by the state, the detainees were handed over to the gendarmerie command in the state in order to investigate whether they were members of Daesh organization.

Turkey tightens security measures along its border with Syria, which extends for more than 900 kilometers, in a bid to prevent the infiltration of some people to Syria, in order to join Daesh.
