AHRC Chairman Lauds Qatar's Efforts in Boosting Human Rights Situation


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Chairman of Arab Human Rights Committee (AHRC) Dr. Hadi Bin Ali Al Yami praised on Monday Qatar's efforts in supporting and strengthening human rights situation.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Yami said that the AHRC as concerned with the Charter believes that Qatar from countries that initiated and ratified the Arab Charter as well as submitted its report on the human rights situation, which has been discussed at the Arab League headquarters in line with an interactive dialogue, adding that the meeting had been come out a positive vision about the measures taken by the State of Qatar in the application of the provisions of the Arab Charter.

He stressed that the committee appreciates Qatar's attention and measures taken with regard to the promotion of human rights in accordance with the Arab Charter, through the ratification , submission of reports and response of civil society committees through continuous communication with the committee, while pointing to the existence of a continuous communication between AHRC and Qatar National Human Rights Committee( NHRC).

On the deteriorating situation in the Palestinian territories and the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al Yami said that the AHRC is following these developments with a great pain and trying hard to communicate with all civil society mechanisms Palestine as well as the international organizations to mobilize efforts to put an end to this flagrant and gross violations against the Palestinian people.

He called on the Arab League to play a positive role in the follow-up of this file and put an end to these flagrant violations.
