Egypt begins counting ballots of parliamentary elections' first phase


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Counting of ballots of the first phase of Egypt's parliamentary elections has begun, and preparations were ongoing for announcement of results.
There are four contending lists; Nedaa Misr, the independent Al-Sahwa bloc, For the Love of Egypt and the Egyptian Front Coalition and the Independent Trend.
Any individual candidate or list should win 51 percent of votes to win the seats. A run-off will be held between the two candidates who fail to gain the 50 percent.
The first phase of the electoral process is being held in Al-Giza, Al-Fayoum, Bani Swaif, Al-Minya, Assiut, Al-Wadi Al-Gedid, Sohag, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea, Alexandria, Al-Behaira, Marsa Matrouh and Qena.
