(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A Kuwaiti youth project, called "Eighty Percent," have made it to the final nominations list for the Emirates Award for Arabian Gulf Youth 2015 (EAAG 2015), which hosted 15 projects from different GCC countries.
Founders of "Eighty Percent," Najat Al-Sayegh, Rawiya Al-Hajry, and Rabaa Al-Hajry beat out 200 young Gulf competitors to make it to the prize's final list, which aims at encouraging young entrepreneurs to present social pioneering projects that tackle challenges faced by local societies in the Gulf region, and provide solutions for them.
Teams and individuals behind the top 15 ideas will be given a workshop and mentorship program. They will also be asked to present their ideas to a selection committee composed of investment, government, and philanthropy authorities.
EAAG encourage GCC nationals, between the ages of 18 and 35, with ideas of using profit for social good, to submit their ideas through a video application on the foundation's website.
The top three winners of the award will receive funding of AED 100,000, AED 70,000, and AED 50,000, in addition to incubation grants from the foundation for a year to develop their business concepts into sustainable enterprises.
