Erdogan, Merkel discuss Syrian refugees, terrorism


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erodgan held talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel Sunday on the Syrian refugees' crisis.
Markel reiterated importance of supporting Turkey to share burden of hosting hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, Erdogan told a news conference following the meeting.
He said they also discussed common action against terrorist groups, as well as opening negotiations' chapters with the EU.
Merkel did not rule out the growing number of refugees but said the burden should be shared with Turkey.
She said they discussed terrorism and importance of solving the Syrian conflict politically.
