Minister to open Qatar International College Fair today


(MENAFN- The Peninsula)DOHA: Some 113 local and international universities are expected to participate in Qatar International College Fair which opens today at Qatar National Convention Centre.

Minister of Education and Higher Education and Supreme Education Council (SEC) Secretary-General H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi will inaugurate the fair themed ‘Towards diversity to stimulate creativity and innovation’.

The three-day event with workshops and lectures aim to raise students’ awareness about opportunities in local and international universities to apply for bachelor or postgraduate degrees and check the SEC’s scholarship options.

Senior government officials SEC officials ministers ambassadors schools principals teachers students parents academics university directors deans of colleges and media representatives will take part.

Cultural attaches’ offices of embassies in Qatar the Ministry of Administrative Development local entities concerned with scholarships will also participate. For the first time many prestigious universities and institutions from Turkey Spain and Malaysia are taking part along with Qatar University Hamad Bin Khalifa University and other Education City colleges Community College Police College Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College Joaan Bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College Qatar Aeronautical Colleges College of the North Atlantic — Qatar and Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.

The event will also feature educational institutions involved in international exams such as TOEFL and IELTS.
