Delegations of the OIC member states have entrusted the PUIC Secretary General with the task in a final statement after their Saturday meeting in Geneva, on the sidelines of the 133th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

They condemned the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians, especially in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa as "crimes of war and crimes against humanity." They asked the international community to provide due protection to the Palestinian people and to stop Israel's violation of the relevant international norms, conventions and resolutions, that hold the Muslim and Christian sites integral parts of Jerusalem, "capital of the Palestinian State."
