S. Korean farm shipments grow 4.4 percent in Sept

(MENAFN) South Korea's exports of agricultural and processed food products jumped 4 percent in September from 2014's cited month, driven mainly by strength of deliveries to many key markets.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, shipments of food and other farm yields hit USD532.7 million in the mentioned timeframe, up 4.4 percent as opposed to the same period last year.

In September, exports to the U.S. increased 11.4 percent on-year to USD55.5 million, whereas shipments to the EU and the six-member GCC also rose 8.9 percent and 22.6 percent compared to 2014.

However, when considering the nine month in the current year, farm exports plunged 0.9 percent from 2014, thus the total shipped out stood at USD4.52 billion, down from USD4.56 billion last year.
