Qatar- Court of Appeal upholds guilty ruling in assault case


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Court of Appeal has upheld a guilty ruling by the Court of First Instance on some expatriate workers who were involved in a fight at their accommodation, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
The Court of First Instance had sentenced three workers to six months in jail each and imposed a fine of QR3,000 on each of them for attacking some neighbors at their accommodation in Abu Hamour, the daily noted.
Besides, another person was sentenced to two months in prison and ordered to pay a fine of QR3,000 after he was convicted of being inebriated and causing disturbance to others. He was the one who started the fight after reaching the workers' accommodation in an inebriated condition at night.
When asked by a colleague to calm down, he attacked him. Soon, more workers joined the fight and some people were injured in the process.
