FORT VALLEY Ga. - Oct. 14 2015 - PRLog -- FVSU''s Black Men With Initiative and FVSU''s Innovative People PR Group will host ''Just for Men: Barbershop Talk'' an event of fun football and fellowship. Motivational speaker Toney ''T.R.'' Cross will kick the evening off with a discussion covering the topics of life after college social awareness and business vs. pleasure.Following the conversation the men will watch the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons compete head-to-head in their first match of this season on Thursday October 15 2015. ''Just for Men: Barbershop Talk'' will take place in Wildcat Commons Building 5 on the 2nd Floor at 7 p.m.The purpose for the ''Just for Men: Barbershop Talk'' event is to provide an experience where young men can engage in conversation that opens avenues to different perspectives on the common concerns they share. The men of FVSU are encouraged to arrive to the JFM: Barbershop Talk event with an open mind that will allow for organized intellectual conversation.--I.P.P.R.--BACKGROUNDToney ''T.R.''. Cross an Atlanta Georgia native and a 2002 graduate of Paine College - is focused on building bridges that are made on solid foundations that can withstand the test of time and connecting people to each other. Leadership has always been a place of operation for ''T.R.'' therefore empowering men as well as equipping them to serve others is the fuel that ignites Toney''s passion.Innovative People''s Public Relations Group is comprised of students in the Fort Valley StateUniversity''s Visual Performing Arts and Media Studies program under the public relations curriculum. I.P.P.R was created to provide students with opportunities to gain a hands-on experience of the Public Relations industry. Students working under the supervision of Instructor Chata Spikes gain insight on principles of public relation professionals how to establish relationships with clients and the public as well as the morals and ethics of the PR field based on the guidelines of the Public Relations Society of America.Black Men With Initiative founded by Dr. Said Sewell III in 2002 at the University of West Georgia. In 2010 Dr. Sewell introduced the organization to the campus of Fort Valley State University and with the consistency of its student leaders Jason B. Allen and Tyrell Cleveland; BMWI has been an influential organization at FVSU.The mission of BMWI is to foster an environment that is conducive to the development of the 21st Century leaders through enhanced social spiritual and civic engagement.
