Palestinian Flag Hoisted at UN Geneva Headquarters

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The flag of Palestine was raised today at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) alongside other UN members with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki, UNOG Director-General Michael Moller and a number of UN officials attending.

Qatar's Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Office at Geneva HE Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hinzab took part in the ceremony alongside delegates of other states.

The United Nations General Assembly on September 10 adopted with an overwhelming majority of votes a resolution whereby the flag Palestine can be flown at United Nations headquarters and offices around the world.(QNA) According to the information office, UNOG director general Michael Moller will take part in the event, as well as representatives of the permanent observer mission of Palestine to the UN Office at Geneva and other international organizations.
