Kuwait- 'Abdali Cell' hearing delayed to Oct 21 for autopsies report

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Criminal circuit of the court of cassation Tuesday postponed a hearing until Oct 21 over case No. 55/2015 (the State criminal security case) on a terrorist cell involving 26 suspects, to hear testimony of autopsy experts. The court, chaired by Justice Mohammad Al-Duaij, listened to testimony of a ballistics officer earlier in the day.

The court was addressed in the past hearing, held behind closed doors on Oct 6, by an inspection officer on the same case. It had refused to release defendants during the Oct 4 session and was addressed by a State security officer.

It had freed four of the accused on a KD 500 bail, but banned them from travel and compelled the defendants to attend next sessions. There are 26 persons charged with the case. They are all Kuwaitis, except for a single Iranian. The court held the first hearing on September 15.

The Public Prosecution had called for pre-trial detention of all the suspects, accused of carrying out hostile acts against the State of Kuwait, with possession of firearms, guns, ammunition and eavesdropping devices.
