Kuwait condemns Israeli escalation against Aqsa Mosque


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The State of Kuwait condemned strongly Tuesday the escalating and continued attacks of the Israeli forces against sanctities and Palestinians at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a speech delivered by Kuwait's permanent delegate during an extraordinary Arab League meeting, First Secretary Mohammad Al-Alati urged the international community to bear its human and moral responsibility to put an end to the repeated and continued acts of Israel on Islamic sanctities.
The Kuwaiti representatives stressed that such attacks violate the international laws and norms as well as the laws of human rights, saying they also destroy "the region's peace process".
He referred to Kuwait's presidency of the current session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the extraordinary meeting of the OIC foreign ministers upon Saudi Arabia's request to discuss the Israeli attacks.
He stated that Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah headed a ministerial meeting of OIC in New York on October 1 during which the conferees condemned the Israeli acts against Palestinians.
During the meeting, it was declared that Eastern Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Palestine, he added.
He reaffirmed Kuwait's full support for the Palestinian people who have been attacked by the Israeli forces.
