US condemns 'terrorist' attacks against Israeli civilians


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The US condemned in "the strongest terms" Tuesday's "terrorist" attacks against Israeli civilians with resulted in the murder of three Israelis and left numerous others wounded.
"We mourn any loss of innocent life, Israeli or Palestinian," said State Department Spokesperson John Kirby in a statement. "We continue to stress the importance of condemning violence and combating incitement." Secretary of State John Kerry spoke separately over the weekend with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, State Department Deputy spokesperson Mark Toner elaborated to reporters on Tuesday.
Kerry, "reiterated the importance of strongly condemning violence and combating incitement, as well as taking affirmative steps to reduce tensions," Toner noted.
Kirby's statement did not detail a specific terror group behind the attack but other media reports indicated it a Palestinian attacker who behind the three deaths in Jerusalem.
