China's car sales surge 2.1 percent in Sept

(MENAFN) China's vehicle sales witnessed a recovery in September on the back of government's stimulus measures aiming at reviving the industry.

Car sales improved 2.1 percent to 2.02 million, on the other hand, auto production declined percent year on year to 1.89 million last month.

On a larger scale, over the nine months timeframe, vehicle sales grew 0.3 percent to 17.06 million and auto production slumped 0.8 percent to 17.09 million.

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) attributed the sales boost in September mostly to the growth in passenger car and new energy vehicle sales.
