Iran plans to import 50,000 barrels a day of gas

(MENAFN) As the Sanctions get lifted, Iran will need to ship in nearly 20 percent more gasoline to meet its local demand in the first year.

The nation plans to form a market for around USD1 billion in fuel sales from overseas, thus purchasing about 50,000 barrels a day of gasoline.

However, the country may have to import more than the mentioned quantity, as much as 70,000 barrels a day, but it's not confirmed yet.

Furthermore, Iran was the Persian Gulf region's largest gasoline buyer before the world powers forced sanctions over its nuclear program.
