Qatar- Ban lauds Qatar support to Libyan dialogue team

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday evening received a phone call from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The call reviewed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the situation in Libya.
The UN secretary general expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Emir for Qatar's efforts in supporting the Libyan dialogue team by co-operating with the secretary general's special envoy, Bernardino Leon, to reach a comprehensive political agreement on forming a consensus government that brings back political and social unity to Libya.
HH the Emir, in turn, praised the special envoy's efforts in bringing closer points of view and reaching a common ground in order for Libya to move steadily towards stability, security and growth.
Meanwhile, Qatar's Foreign Ministry has renewed its support for efforts aimed at the success of the Libyan dialogue.
In a statement yesterday, the Foreign Ministry welcomed proposals reached by the Libyan dialogue team in the last round held in the Moroccan city of Skhirat, overseen by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to form a government of national unity.
The statement expressed thanks to UNSMIL's employees and Leon, in particular, for their efforts in facilitating the dialogue.
It said that Qatar would continue to provide all support to form the next government and build the Libyan state through concerted efforts of the Libyan parties and the participation of all components.
